Coping with Hair Changes

If you find that your hair is starting to thin out, you can:

  • Get a haircut. A short, layered cut can help your hair look fuller.
  • Avoid washing your hair too often.
  • Avoid hair coloring, perms and harsh shampoos.
  • Use mild products and keep your hair well-conditioned and moisturized.
  • Allow your hair to fall naturally. Teasing, braiding, and weaving can cause more breakage.
  • Minimize the use of hair dryers, curling irons and rollers.
  • Protect your hair from the sun by wearing a hat.
